I've gotten the pack ready, it will be the smaller blue one with only 23 lbs. Since the weather is going to turn cool, again, I am going to take a pair of warm overalls to sleep in and that jumped the pack weight up to 30. That's still less than the 55 lbs I lugged the last time. The wookie satchel is ready and along with two water bottles I'm set to go. I'm also set for this rain to go. My latest on the weather is that it's suppose to be clear tomorrow and Saturday but cool with it getting into the 40's at night, hence the warm overalls, and Sunday is still a mystery as far as rain goes. I believe I can make Rockmart by Sunday and then spend some time with the Clareadons if there is rain setting in. Monday looks like nasty drizzling so I may be able to do some moving then but I need to be able to make Anniston by Wednesday. If not I'll be holed up til Saturday. Fear not, I learned my lessen back in 09 and will not try and walk in the pouring rain. Now to get through the night at the Nameless Place.
The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed.
