Been getting all sorts of ready between yesterday and today. One of the major accomplishments is that I built a feeder to hold cat food for a two week jaunt. Here are some of the pictures:
I took an old five gallon bucket, cut a hole in the bottom, secured some wooden pegs as legs to hold it up and used an old carrier bottom to screw the legs to. I should be able to stick 2 weeks of food in there and this will allow them to get what they want when they want. The only problem is that with my bunch of chow cats they will eat up the 2 weeks worth in 1 week, lay around fat and sassy for the next three days and then start squallin' because they have no more food. I will be home long before they run out but in May comes the Pinhoti and that trail will have me out for two weeks.
I was running into a panic mode for a bit; I couldn't find my Garmin eTracker10. It's a hand held GPS which is great for giving me my exact position but also keeps up with my route and "millage". For several days last week I looked everywhere for it and not able to find it. Went on Amazon, found another one, ordered it for two day delivery (which came in today). UPS drops the package off and right before I opened the box I spied another box which I had piled with "junk". I took a moment to look inside and YEP! there sat the missing one. Nice thing I like about Amazon is they have a very liberal return policy; I saw the package, unopen, on it's way back to Amazon. But if I have never have ordered the new one then I would never have found the old one.
Well, I still have packing to do; and last minute things to go over before tomorrow. As for the entry on the trails expect them short and sweet with just me telling how far I've traveled that day.
C'mon Firday Morning
