The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Finally

Bet some of ya'll were beginning to think I've dropped off the face of the earth.  Not so, just had a bunch of other things to distract me.

It was before Thanksgiving when I made my last entry.  I spend Thanksgiving with the Clarendon's up on Paris Mt. Then Christmas was an experiene, I just happen to catch the Clarendon's Christmas dinner which was the saturday before, then I had Christmas with Top down in Hugley the monday before Christmas, then Christmas day with the Derrick's.  I had to work the New Year, Eve and Day.

For those that hadn't heard, Neil had to go into the hospital in February for her Gall bladder.  They removed it and found a stone in it the size of an avacado seed.  Neil is 86 and doing fine, Go Neil!!!!!!

Also I had to drag the cats to the Vet's.  Moreland now has a Vet, She built on the old vacant lot net door to the middle post office.  That was the lot that the town of Moreland "bribed" the owner to keep him from building a Family Dollar on.  Well, the lot was sold and now the Moreland Vetinary Hospital sets on it.  So, I set up an appointment and on the 12th of this month they had to make a visit to the vet.

I made the decision to get them all down to the vet because Socks and I had a bit of a disagreement.  I decided that he needed to move out of my seat and he decieded to latch himself onto the hand I used to shoo him with, and with teeth and claws sunk in, not let go.  I couldn't pry him loose and since the pain was starting to overwhelm me I made the quick decision to beat his head againt the wall.  It took the forth smack to render him unconcious and he detatched himself from my hand.  He fell to the floor and was laying there twitching like he had had a seizure.  I had to fight off the impulse to keep from kicking him for good measure.  I grabbed him by the scuff of the neck and took him outside and put him in the condo and locked him in.  I figured that I may have to bury a cat in the morning.

Next morning when I went to look in on him he was so glad to see me, acted like I was his long lost buddy and couldn't understand why I hadn't come to visit him sooner with him reaching his paws through the wires.  I opened the door and stuck my injured hand in and he sniffed it and then looked questionly at me as if to asked, "What happened here, Boss?"  So apparently we had astablished who was alpha-cat with that alter-cat-ion last night.  But I decieded to get him fixed so maybe it'll help with that agression and get the two kittens done at the same time.  Also get Figaroe and Denis up on their shots.

Before I could bring them all in on the morning of the 12th, I had to sign DNR orders for them.  I understand all too well the small percentage that Recesitation works on humans, and I believe that on an animal it would be even less, so I couldn't see added cost for something that wasn't going to work.  While I was doing the paperwork, a lady came in carrying her cat in here arms.  This lady is one of them cheerful souls that never meets a stranger.  Well, she was chatting away to anyone in the office that would listen about her cat was more of a dog since she had it lease trained, "Would you believe it". I didn't say anything, but when I went out to get the cats I brought four in at the same time, all on their lease.   Socks had to be brought in in a carrier because of his agresseive behavor.  I didn't say a word to the woman but but she was all, " aww, look at that".

Figaroe and Dennis only needed shots and they were in and out that day, but Socks, Notorious C.A.T. and Mr. Smokey Bones needed to be fixed.  Don't need more kittens running around. They had to stay the night and was glad to see me the next day.

Oh, well, I'll stop here and try and keep up with the entry's in the future.
