The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Christmas at Hugley

I had Christmas Dinner at Aunt Virginia’s in Hugley. It was good to be able to see relatives that I haven’t seen in a while plus also to be able to see the new additions to the family. Of Top’s children we had Bubba with his wife Gloria, Joan, and Charlie with his wife Mary Kay and son Jackson. Herbert Richardson, Top’s son-in-law was there with Frankie Richardson, Top’s Grandson through Martha/Joan. Martha’s Son Timmy and his family were there, (forgive me but I didn’t catch all of their names). Glenda’s Daughter was there with her boyfriend and Son. Mary Jane, a close friend and neighbor of Bubba and Gloria, was there too.

The dinner consisted of the traditional Ham with all the fixin’ and no one had any excuse to leave there hungry. This was a small gathering compared to the ones we had at Grandma’s decades ago, (egad: has it really been that long!?!) but it was large enough to remind us why Grandma uses to always rent those big old houses. She knew she needed room for her family when they came to gathering.
