The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Pet Peeve

I arrived into Atlanta at a little after 9 pm and by the time I collected my car, grabbed a bite to eat and arrived in Moreland, it was nearing midnight.  I shined a light towards the catico and counted 5 sets of eyeballs that were looking my way in more of a cursory glance as to who was there.  I went into the house, leaving my bag still in the car, and after satisfying myself that burglars hadn't robbed me blind nor a group of boogey-men gypsy had moved in I went to bed.  I slept in.

I got up and made breakfast then I went out and checked on how the cats were.  They were giving me that leery look of not knowing who I might be until I was almost at the catico and I spoke to them.  Then the lights went on in their tiny craniums.

Bone, Notorious and Ninja was glad to see me.  Attica was his normal indifference self.  Socks stayed in a corner and acted like I didn't exist.  They still had plenty of food and water and I saw where Don & Mary had given them wet food, so after I sat on the bench and petted Bones, Notorious, and Ninja for a little bit I got up to leave.  Socks jumped at the gate and stood there like he expected to be let out but still wouldn't look at me.

Phooey on that!  I moved his furry behind to the side with my foot and he went back to his corner to pout.  I left and went back into the house.  I had some Dark Shadows to catch up on.

After a couple of hours I went back to the catico.  Bones and Notorious were lapping up the lovin' while ninja played movie star and soaked up the sun.  Attica was under the shed, not to be bother (as if I would bother him).  Socks still sat in the corner and pouted.  After a few minutes Socks resolved weaken.  He nonchalantly came over, sat down beside me.  Then he made eye contact.

I asked him if he was ready to go.  He ran over to the gate and looked back at me.  I opened the gate, allowing him to leave.  He made a beeline straight to the back door.  Since he has his own way into the house I told him to use it as I entered.  A couple of moments later he was in.  He ran around the house checking the same things I did last night and after being satisfied that burglars didn't steal us blind nor a band of gypsy boogey men has made this their abode he finally jumped into my lap and cuddled.

Life is back to normal.
