John Michael "Bubba" Hendrix

Mr. John Michael "Bubba" Hendrix, 57, of Hogansville, passed away at his home, Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 6, 1957, in Newnan, Mr. Hendrix was a 1975 graduate of Hogansville High School and was a paramedic for American Medical Response-Troup County. He was a deacon of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in church dramas.
He was the loving husband of Luann Brown Hendrix; the proud father and father in-law of Holly Hendrix Prather and Dale Prather; and the doting grandfather of Nathan Prather. He is also survived by his sister in-law, Karen Dennis and her husband Tom; brothers in-law, Tommy Brown and his wife Susan, and Wendell Herren; niece and nephews, Heather and Jason Burge, Emmett and Tara Brown, and Scott Herren; great-niece and great-nephew, Skylar and Tyler Herren. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Fielder Hendrix; father, Frank Hendrix; and sister, Terri Hendrix Herren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Donald Yancey and Rev. Charles Chapman will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church, 552 Hammett Rd., from 6 until 9 Thursday night.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assistance in Healthcare, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 600 Celebrate Life Pkwy., Newnan, GA 30265.

Bubba was my first Paramedic partner. I didn''t learn of his passing until this morning since I was away from work on vacation.
