The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. It was just what the doctors ordered

Yesterday, I arose early and after doing some much needed chores I suited up to ride.  This consisted of two shirts, a heavy jacket, jeans, the snowmobile pants and gloves, topped with the schnieder orange hoodie.  It was a cold start with the tempts still in the 40s but the ride was still enjoyable.  My outfit was able to negate the wind chill.  First stop was in Palmetto to retrieve some money that was owed then up to Smyrna to get beaten up by the chiropractor.  I arrived there shortly after they left for lunch so I had a little time to kill and decided to feed my own intestinal bacteria.  After the lunch it had warmed up enough to leave off most of the warm gear so I headed back to the Chiropractor with bare minumim.
After the Chiropractor reopened I got adjusted and spent a moment or two catching up with Doc; it had been August since the last time I was able to go up there.
From there I was southbound, or more so southwest bound. This put me into driving into the sun for the most part.  Since I wear a full face shield a duck bill on my helmet is not available and I couldn't just tilt my head down a bit to block the sun.  I still had the prescription sunglasses on which helped a lot but not totally.  Once I reached South Fulton County and I had cover of the trees which made a 100% improvement on visability.  It also dropped the temperature considerablly.  That called for a roadside stop to fully resuit.
Once back into Newnan I swung by Petsmart to buy some cat food for my poor ol' starving cats {just asks them, they will tell you they are, in between bealches}.  Petsmart is having a sale for about three dollars off per bag.  I can carry a single bag but after a moment or two of consideration I decided that more than one would be combersome.
So, by the time I made it home I had just enough time to slop the cats then put on an extra jacket before riding to work.  'Tis the beginning of a 36 hours shift.
It was a good long ride today, with a lot of stress relief.  To me, the stress relief comes from having to focus on the ride.  You must be aware of your ride and your surrounding at all times.  The crap that has been getting you down must disappear for a little while.  If not; well, at best you will come away with some road rash.
I've had it.  I wish to never have it again.
