The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Draft
Yesterday was one of them busy style days. Left work, road Pork Chop home and it's starting to run rough again. Stopped at the Post Office and it was a prelude to Christmas; all of the cold weather gear I order had came in PLUS the ten pounds of beef jerky I've been waiting on. So here I was loaded up on Pork Chop with the mail, packages, and my other paraphernalia; luckily I've only had 4 doors to ride down. A course, at the house, I had to "play" with all of my new booties.
Then, I get a call from a cousin that needed my truck, with me included, to help move some items from her brother and sister-in-law's house. These were the two, I mention back in September, who had passed away within nine days of each other and left no wills or executor of their estate. When we arrived at the residence we learned that the power had been cut off only yesterday and the first thing that was tackled was the food in the refrigerator and freezer. Well, to make this long story short, these cousins who had passed would be considered "baby hoarders". It wasn't so much as what we got out as what we had to move around to get to it. But we ended up getting the main things that my cousin Vickie was wanting from there and I even ended up with a sewing machine, some still frozen meat, and a crap load of candy (just what I needed) before dark.
After I unloaded at Vickie's I headed home with my new acquisitions and decided to stop at Teriyaki Bristol in LaStrange. It had been a while and I notice that the had made it looking more like the small Japanese bristols I remember in my short stay in Sasabo. They even had three "party booths" that could be curtained off. Yakisoba was the fare and Oooo was it ever so good. By this time I was beginning to realize how tired and sore I was getting. Time to get home.
I arrived in Moreland and pulled up into the front and backed up to the porch to unload. Got the meat out and put in the freezer with the candy I don't need and said, well I'm not going to repeat it but essentially I didn't unload the sewing machine.
Slept the night, except for the bathroom run because my nephrons never sleep, and ready myself for another fun filled day of Nameless Place activities. I walked out the back door, the front is unlockable from the outside, and was met by Socks, except it wasn't Socks.
Attica had gotten aloose fron the catico. Oh No! He was actually trying to get into the house, which is strange since he had never been inside my house before. I picked him up and when he realize I was heading back towards the Catico with him he started to get grouchy and even turned to snap at me. I just grabbed him be the scuff of the neck and continue on carrying him. At the catico, standing in the partially opened gate was Mr. Smokey Bone. A quick glance and I saw Ninja. Wasn't until after I had put Attica back into the catico that I was able to locate Notorious C.A.T. in her blackness. Socks showed up to and gave me the look of, "I told him not to get out but he wouldn't listen."
The only one I couldn't locate was Asystole.
She could be under the shed or she could have made a break for it. The latch looked like it had been nudged up, it's not a complicated one, and she could have been the one to have done it. I'll know more when I get home, in the dark, this evening.
