The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Draft

McDonald's @ Oak Lawn Ga I'm sitting at the loco office, on a Halloween, awatchin' a slew of trick-treaters descend into the dinning area and sashay up to the counter. This is the same counter that has only a single cashier. There are three registers but only a single, solitary, cashier. The cashier can not keep up so the shift manager, in a bout of infinite "wisdom" come to the rescue; only to send the hurried cashier to the back to help with the drive-thru. So, now, we have a manager tending the cash register, trying to solve "problems" and getting farther and farther behind still with the customers. Lawdy No! They can't open up another register. Someone might mistakenly think there is some intelligence at work behind the counter. Also, you must ask for napkins at the counter... I do believe that putting in kiosks to replace cashiers will be the best thing this corporation has done since the introduction of the Big Mac.
