The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Vacation 2010 - Day 8

Another one of them laid back days, it was overcast and a little on the cool side so not much went on. Pat and I went into town to shop and got some supplies for supper. The menu was eggrolls, lumpia, and falafels. Before supper we went out and road around a bit, there was a museum that they wanted to check out but it turned out to be closed. Then they decided to go check out the blue bonnets on I-35 north of Lytle, TX. That panned out too, so we ended up in Castroville, TX and stopped at a couple of "Antiques" (ahem, junk) shops to look around. The have a consignment one in the old theater in Castroville, and I found a lot of aluminum items in there. I picked up an old milk shake shaker and a tooth brush holder shaped like Mickey Mouse's head. But I'm going to go back with more money because they have other items that I would like to add to my collection.

Back at the house, we cooked the meal and I had a little problem with the falafel, they wanted to fall apart when I was frying them but I added a little bit of flour in the mix and Viola, it work. And they were a hit, even my Uncle went for a second helping. After that we got a call from Peggy Jean and set up for a meeting in Fredrickburgs, Tx. for a Lupper (yes, late lunch - early supper) with Peggy Jean and Herb. Other then that the day was just one relaxing day.
