The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. The Return of the Acer

Well, I finally got my old Acer back, after being in the shop for 20 days it was ready. The mother board went but the hard disk was still good and all my files were intact, (you may have heard the big sigh of relief). Now I have to figure out how to get them both on the internet at the same time without having to pull hen's teeth. One of these days I'm going to luck up and figure out how to configure that router right or I'll use a rubber mallet and fix it where it can't be fixed.

I've been working on getting the new shed built but it's slow going. I'm having trouble figuring out how to keep the walls true. A course if I would break down and get some help over here to hold up a wall while I secure it then it might stay true.

But last weekend I worked on it some until the heat of the day got too bad and then I took a break. On Saturday I met with Joyce and Donna at the Longhorn's steak house for lunch and felt generous enough to treat them. Joyce and I spent the time trying to see just how much we could embarrass Donna and we did a good job of it. After lunch I walked around with them in Wal-Mart and picked up a few items. Then we ended up at the new Borders in Newnan, while they were having a three for two sale on DVDs. I ended up picking up three Akira Kurosawa films from the Criterion Collection, that I've had been eyeing for a while. They were Red Beard, Throne of Blood, and Rashômon The Criterion Collection isn't cheep and they don't want to come down on their prices. So being able to get one "free" for buying two helped out with my budget.

Then on Sunday I got to re-meet Jeremy. I remember meeting him once before before his incarceration but that was when Teresa and I was still dating. You could tell that he had a lot of adjustment to get use to being free again. He couldn't sit still unless it was on a hard chair and he complained of not able to sleep the night before because of the bed being too soft.

Then on Wednesday I went to the dentist, I had to get some of that deep root cleaning. They only did the right side of my mouth but the dentist used oral gel to deaden my topical gum line and then injected a local with a syringe. It actually didn't hurt. I felt pressure but that was it. I did do the old Bill Cosby routine about having to "fixxix my bobbom libbib from being in my babb" and he forbade me to say any more. Something about it's not wise to get someone laughing what is sticking sharp object in you mouth.

As far as work has been going, 'bout the same.
