The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. The New ACER

Well, well, well, well. Like the good patriot I am I put my economic stimulus money back into circulation. By spending it all in one place. On the 20th of May an electrical storm came through Moreland and even though I disconnected all the power outlets, well, I didn't think about it coming through the cable for the internet. But it did. And the old Acer is now in the shop and I am waiting to find out what the damages are and hopefully my hard drive wasn't fried.

Until then I went and bought an ACER Aspire 4520. It has AMD Athion 64 x 2 Dual-core processor TK -55 (1.8 Ghz, 2 x 256 KB l2 cache) with a 120 Gig hard drive and it came with a 1 gig Ram, which I upgraded to 2 gig. So even if I get the other fixed I'll have the two with the older one to do internet browsing and the newer one to keep track of my work. I'm also trying to figure out how to get this blasted router I bought to work. Once I get it to working then I'll use the wireless function so that neither of these computer will be hard wire attracted to the internet.

Oh, well, at lease I had the funds when I needed them.
