Joe ‘Jerry’ George




Mr. Joe ‘Jerry’ George, 50, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. George was born March 30, 1957 in Hollywood, Fla., son of the late Charlie and Lottie Norred George. He was a member of Bethel Chapel Baptist Church and worked for Durand-Wayland Corp. He was a cancer survivor and would reach out to others and share his testimony. He loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Ann Jacks George; daughters, Wendy George Powell and Holly George Bradley; a stepson, Timothy Browning all of LaGrange; grandchildren, Ethan Powell, Dylan Powell, Ryan Powell, Gracie Bradley and Hannah Browning; a sister, Virginia Whitten of Hughley, Ala.; a very special friend, Thomas Whitworth and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 Tuesday at the Bethel Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Bryan Geter and Rev. Danny Geter officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at his home at 823 Waterview Dr., and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
