Today was one of them very productive days. After spending a couple of hours on the phone trying to obtain a burn permit, I discovered that it is almost impossible to get a permit for the size pile I have, started to look like I’ll have to go and hire a contractor to burn the pile.
Now one of the things that kept coming up when I was trying to get the permit was that I was kept asked if the pile was smaller then 6’x6’. I finally said that the pile is smaller then 6’ x 6’ and got the permit. I grabbed some cinder blocks and make a pit… you guessed it, 6’ x 6’. I filled it up, got the fire started, and then spent the rest of the day feeding wood into the fire. Nowhere did I hear about a limit about how big the feed for the fire had to be. It was a good chilly day so working with the fire felt good. The pile should take about 5 or 6 burn days to get it down. And when I get the feed pile down small enough, time to burn it too.
While doing all of this I had someone to stop and question me about the Lincoln Town-car. I gave him the information he wanted and we made a sale. Oh well, that’s a part of family history that is now gone. I now still have the F-150 pick-up to sell. I know what I can get out of it, and I know that old work trucks are in high-demand still. Just a matter of time before someone meets my price.
I also now have a curb market across the hwy. I notice that they had tomatoes out. Well, I got to hankering for a mater sandwich and walked over. For 50 cents I got a tomato big enough to make several sandwiches out of. Just one slice was a big enough slab to cover the bread. Ohhh, they were good.
Well, I’ll cut this post short, ‘cuss I still have to work tonight.
