My second boss in an effort to be nice to me gave me my paycheck Wednesday, two days early because I wasn't going t be around Friday. Today I needed to head to Atlanta to get beat up by the chiropractor and stopped by the bank to deposit that check. Everything was going good until the teller did a double take and realize that the check hasn't been signed - BY THE BOSS!
Well, I have to go by palmetto on my way to Atlanta so I gather my check and headed up the road. Found my boss and told him that the check was no good. I handed it to him and he was scratching his head until I pointed out the lack of signature. He said, "Well, you could have signed it!"
"Not in front of the teller, that wouldn't have gone over that well."
"Yeah, I see your point."
So, with signed check in hand I completed my trip to the chiropractor and received a whoop-butt that couldn't be beat. Came on home and since I had to stop by the Equipment Rental Company at Thomas Crossroad to reserve an instrument of vast destruction for the upcoming Vacation I decided to visit the local branch of my bank to try that deposit thingy, one.. more... time...
The check is dated for tomorrow.
That was pointed out by another teller.
I pointed out that I had the funds to cover the check in case it came back.
They grudgingly accepted it.
Boy! All that just to get a check deposited. But it did feel good to be able to tell that teller that I had the funds to cover that check.
The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed.
