The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Monday with Maddie

Sunday was basically a lazy day, and a very cold day here in San Angelo.  At one time it actually dipped below freezing and snow looked imminent.  I was keeping an eye on the weather so that if I had to I would change my travel times, as in leaving for San Antonio earlier.  But as of today, it is still bitter cold here but with bright sunshine.  No changes in travel time needed, yet.
But Mother and I did get her two other nieces, Shelly and Sharon, and a grand nephew, Justin, over for a dinner of cabbage soup and cornbread. Good visiting and good eating.
Today's itinerary is more laziness and keeping warm with a nap later on before having to head into San Antonio at one to one-thirty in the morning.  Here again, I know I'll be passing through some pretty country side but it will be dark.  But since Uncle & Auntie will most likely be homesteading in Kerrville all my subsequence trips out will be into San Antonio, a night with them, my mother's, then a stop-over back in Kerrville before flying home.
But one of these days I'm going to have to make the trip on Pork Chop or one of its succeeders.

The dog I'm picture with is trying to sweet talk me into taking me with her.  She has no-idea what my posse of cats will do to her and me if i was to show up with a "dog".
