The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. McDonald - Hondo Tx Well, I've met my new Auntie Marie, and she's a nut. She'll fit right in with the rest of us. Today is the day. All of her family will be there and there is going to be pictures galore. I believe I'm going to set up a page so the pictures can be uploaded and everyone can take their pick of which ones they want. I am so glad that the Happy Couple decided to have an indoor ceremony because it's a mess weather wise here. It's not a hard rain but a messy cold mist that can make outdoor activities miserable. I'm sure we'll all be nice and toasty in New Fountain. I'm leaving after the reception and my first stop will be in Kerrville to have a cup of coffee with Wessels' before heading on up to San Angelo. On a sour note; a few days ago I jumped down from the bed of my truck and my right knee didn't seem to appreciate the activity. It was one of those, "listen, ol' boy, let's not have a repeat of that or I am going to get perturbed" conversation I had with it. Yesterday, I parked at the economy lot at the airport and then perform a fast "trot" to the terminal, {Yeah, me run...that's rich}. So, when I met up with the affianced couple at Sammy's in Castroville we had lunch and nothing was bothering me, until I returned from the lavatory and when i put the right foot down there was pain. It felt like a sprain type pain and at first I thought, "cramp." But alas, the pain wouldn't subside from trying to walk it off. Through experimentation i realize that as long as I put the heel down first, or actually walk on the heel the pain lessen. Auntie made me remove my shoe and massaged my foot which gave some relief and i got ahold of some epson salt and filling up a tub in the motel room with hot water and the salt it improved for the Wedding Rehearsal last night. The rehearsal was a show within' itself. I took pictures, but until i get to my laptop im not goint to be able to down load, and i have more pictures of the back of Auntie's... Well, someone could mistake that i have a fetish but as i clicked she would turn her head, {I'm not too wild of having folks "pose". I prefer to take pictures naturally}. The soon to be in-law family seems to be of the warm and wonderful variety and it warms my heart that my Uncle is being accepted into such a family. I have no misgivings whatsoever. This morning have been in various preparations of the shin-digs. Both my knee and foot started to act up again so I sally-forth to Wally-world and secured both a slip on knee brace and ankle brace. It's working like a miracle now. Time to get heading over to the church. I believe my role will be to tackle whichever betrothal gets cold feet and tries to run.
