Setting in our usual hidey-hole when we got approached by a marmota monax; the critter was just coming over to be friendly, make acquaintances, exchange news, etc... At first I thought it was a beaver because I hadn't gotten a good look at the tail but when Chucky saw it he started whipping out his camera. Seems that the third "chuck" was a bit camera shy and must have thought "Cripes! It's the pavarazzi!" and skedaddle back from where it came. Chucky jumped out of the truck to capture the image of this woodland creature but furry chuck was a practicer of zen yoga and transcended to another plane. Needless to say, the only proof we have of this encounter is our outstanding reputations.
The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed.
