Left the Camp-grounds around 9 am and started heading for Eddie’s. At Slidell, La., I stopped to fill up. I got mad at the pump because it’s one of those types that won’t let you stop on the dollar, always goes up to the next penny. I didn’t have to stop again until Luling, Tx., The main thing that ate gas up was that I kept the electric cooler in the front and I had to run the AC because of all the heat that cooler was putting off. Also it was stop and go traffic in both Beaumont, Tx., and Houston, Tx. I need to see if they ain’t some way to get around Houston for the next trip. I did pull into Eddie’s just after dark, Nell was already in the bed but she got up for me to hug her and then she left the door unlocked for me. Eddie, Pat and I set up for a little while and then Pat had to go to bed for work tomorrow so it was just Eddie and I. I went to be around 1 am, my time, and was back up at around 7 am. Well , I was up before anyone else so I fixed a cup of coffee and just enjoyed the sunrise.
On the 11th, I stayed around Dunlay and visited with the family. Maggie was having a bad reaction with some medication and the doctors were waiting for it to pass out of her system, it was making her very luturgic . When Pat got home, after stopping in Hondo to check on Maggie, I got treated to their favorite Chinese Restaurant.
