James H. Raborn Jr. age 69, moved to heaven on July 1, 2010 to join his family and friends. Survivors include: His loving wife of 46 years, Janice Raborn; his devoted daughter, Dara Raborn; his sister JoAnn Larivee and husband Roger; his bother Carl Raborn and wife Mary Etta; numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Ronnie Baker. He was born in San Antonio, TX to J. Herman Raborn and Dorothy Raborn. He served 4 years in the US Navy and retired from Southwestern Bell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding on his tractor. His family will receive friends at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX. on July 2, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday July 3, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery on Colonial Parkway, in Devine, TX. at 1:00 PM. The Service will be officiated by Chaplin Captain Robert Boettcher. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to any favorite charity. The family would like to express their gratitude to Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital for their outstanding care and support. He will be truly missed by those who knew him.
