The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Vacation 2010 - Day 12

Actually Made it home by 3 am but I was getting to the point to where I though I'd have to stop and take a nap. I had to gas in Montgomery but other then that nothing remarkable except maybe there are a few section where I don't remember anything. Me thinkit, my guardian angel may have taken over at those time. I know I have a lecture coming to me about him having to impromptu drive on several occasion in my life.

But I pulled up and the cats all came out to look at me with a "Who'z Dat?" look. Then they sat on their hind haunches and crossed their little hearts and raised their right paws to swear that Melody, who said she would come in and look in on them and feed and water them, never did and that they had had nothing to eat what so ever for the last 11 days. Well, I confronted them with the fact that the bin of food I set out for Melody to feed them out of was nearly empty and since cats can't think of a cover lie to the lie they are already tellin' I had them. Besides I know that Melody came in on the morning before and left them with what should have been three days worth of food but it was all gone. My cats know nothin' about rationing. But I fed and check their water and then I went into the house and that's when Socks showed up. Now as thin as he had gotten he could have gotten away with trying to tell that he didn't get any food but I had told Melody not to set him out but only a day worth each time she stopped by because Socks was bad about feeding his little coon sows. Maybe them sows went elsewhere with their ready made supply dried up for nearly two weeks.

So after tending to Socks, Fig and I went into the house and I made my bed and laid down while Fig sat by my head and purred. Blissful sleep soon followed.
