The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Another Snow day.

That's twice this year with the snow, and this is the second year in a row it has happen.

Egad! Globalwarming.

But this year we got over an inch and since the ground didn't have time to freeze, does it ever?, we got an underlying film of slush, as always. But the nice thing is, it dropped to below 20 deg last night.

Ya'll know what that meant.....

That's right, ICE.

Now the snow is sitting on top of a sheet of ice. and the roads show it. I got up early this morning to make sure I could get out. I slopped the cats as normal and then I set out to get my paramedic partner from her home, she's smart, she won't drive in it. I made it there without too much trouble because the trucks must have been detouring the interstate and breaking up the ice that was on the road. The only scary part was that she lives in a hole and although I knew I'd get to her house fine, getting out of that house was a different story. But being the professional driver that I am, I did. And we even got to work on time, without the tech that I relieve running out the door, having kittens, and shoving the phone we use to call the Kronos system to clock in and out of. As of this posting it is still 23 deg outside and it may break freezing by noon but by Monday we'll have either sleet or snow flurries, again. Oh, and by the way, this one was predicted as snow flurries.
