The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. The Retrieval

So, I decided that since Saturday was such a beautiful day, and that I didn't have a child birthday party to go to and I had to go to work that night, I'd go and see about retrieving my bed roll and shelter that I left on the trail. So, I parked at the closest point to the Willow Spring Rd. Bridge and walked in. It was a nice walk, the type of walk I should have done on the 27th instead of in the rain and I made good time. But when I got to the bridge the tarp, mat and bedroll was gone. Seems that since this was more of a day use trail instead of a hiking trail someone didn't know that you're to leave something like that that had been abandoned because the owner will come back later. Oh, well, I didn't have much tied up in it anyway. But the good news was.....

My stool was still where I left it.

Yay

So, it wasn't a total lost.
