The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. Gotta keep an eye on the bones man.

This happen the other day; I was getting dressed and I threw the truck key on the bed. I heard it hit the floor and looked down to see it on the floor with Mr. Smokey Bones sniffing at it. I figure that I've just hit the side of the bed too close and the keys slid down.
So after I've gotten dressed I reached down to where the key was only to find that the key wasn't there anymore! My first thought was a denial that I'm going crazy and the second thought was that if I didn't see the key on the floor then where was it?
I looked on the bed, I looked under the bed, I looked around on the floor, I got down on my hands and knees and looked around, only to come up with a blank.
Then the panic started to set in..... WERE IS THAT _____________ KEY!!!!!!!!!!!
(you can fill in the blank, but be nice).
While on the floor I just happen to spot, thru the open door, Mr. Smokey Bones struttin' out in the foyer with the key dangling from his mouth like he was some sort of dog toting his prize.
Well, I holler, and jumped and the cat was off. Still toting the keys. I stopped short and realized that he could drop that key anywhere. So, I grabbed the lazer pointer and put a red spot on the floor. He leaped from his hiding place with the key still in his mouth and pounced the spot. I played the spot over towards me and he followed, still with the key in his mouth. When I reached down and grabbed him and try and take the key away he sill wouldn't let go. I had to grab him by the scuff of the neck before he'd let that key go.
Well, I've never seen a cat do that before and hopefully I'll never see it again, unless it's with someone else keys.
