The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. The Southeast Gas Shortage.

It's bad over here. To get an idea of what is going on, click here. I've seen too many stations that were completely out. We have two in LaGrange that hasn't had gasoline in over a week. And Diesel is no better. But luckily those stations that do have the gas are not price gouging. It's still about 4 dollars a gallon, which is about "normal". The problem is trying to figure out where to get it at time.

The News says that it's from the pipelines that was damaged from Ike. I was suppose to go to the North GA. Fair this weekend with the Clarendon's but Joyce is was sick and this shortage got me worried that if I go up there and back would I have enough to get me to work for the next week.

The other night I was worried about finding fuel for the ambulance. We had to go to Egleston with a 12 year old with pseudo-seizures and on the way back I stopped at five different places looking for fuel. The truck stops had truckers sitting waiting on a tanker truck to come fuel. They couldn't roll because they didn't have the fuel to move. I finally found some at a little back hole place with the automated pumps that the owner doesn't turn off at night and was able to but nearly $300 dollars worth in the ambulance.

Oh, well, take it one day at a time.
