The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. 16th and 17th

Tues: Early in the morning Eddie and I went into San Antonio to the Home Depot to find some hardware that I was going to need for that frame. ‘Course we ended up in the tool section, and I could tell that there was a lot of tools that Eddie would have liked to have had by then gleam in his eye as he looked at them. His nephew is no different, how you think I was able to recognize that gleam. We spent the rest of the day working on the frame, I had to make a few modification from the original idea but it worked out ok. We both had fun working on it.

Wed: This was the day I use to get ready for the trip home. Eddie and I went into Hondo and picked up some stuff at Wal-Mart.
The Wal-Mart in Hondo plays dirty.
While there I was looking around and they had a weight bench like I have in search of for a while. Seems you can’t find just the bench anymore but have to get the whole nautilus style stations. They are not bad on the price, it’s just they take up so much room. Well, I looked the bench over and told Eddie that I better be able to find that on the web-site or I was going to raise cain with Wal-Mart. Just as I was going to get the info I needed to look it up on the web-site I notice that these benches were on CLEARANCE. Oh, no, that meant I was not going to be able to find it on the web-site. But the clearance price was only $40.00 and I ended up getting it, there. Thankfully I came in my pick-em-up truck. I could see myself trying to UPS that back to Ga.

(The above two picture was from "Virgil" getting his fix.)

I also filled up at the HEB and bought a car wash. The H.E.B. has a touchless wash, and touchless washes are idea for Pick-up trucks. But after I had purchase that wash I realize that I had that bench in the back and It was a little too big for Eddie to hold while we would be going through the wash. So, heck, we had to come home. By this time, it was getting ready for Pat to come home and we were going to go to Sammie’s for dinner. Had a good dinner at Sammie’s, I got the enchilada plate (GREAT).

And then came home. That’s when I remember that I hadn’t seen Maggie again to tell her “Good-bye” so I decided I was going to go back into Hondo in the Morning and see her again and then - GET THE TRUCK WASHED!
