The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. May 12th and 13th.

May 12 Friday: Got into some serious scanning of old family photos and got some beauts. Eddie heard on the radio where one of the last built steam locomotives from the 1940 was passing through and would pass through Dunlay. We went down to the tracks and waited for it to pass, and we were not alone. Seems there was a lot of people up and down the line waiting to see this train as it passed. I was able to get three shots off as the train passed but for some reason only two of them came out. Those two are the two below, (note: I labeled the date wrong and didn’t notice until after I had published).

On Saturday we went in and saw Maggie, she was still groggy but she recognize me as was glad to see me. We visited with Maggie until she got tired and then we went to Kerrville, Tx., to eat lunch at Mamacita’s and then we went to the to a western museum there.

The museum specialize in bronze statues and even sold them. The cheapest only went for around $4000.00, sure am glad we took Eddie’s truck so we could haul all the statues we bought back. We also stopped in Bandera and did some window shopping.

I had to click the tiny x to see the statues.

Are those Remington statues? Mama loves those.
