The Journey of twenty-two hundred miles begins with just a single step. Lao Tzu (paraphrased) This blog is mainly about my excursion upon the Appalachian Trail. This is a journey that has been 15 years in the planning stage and on March 20, 2022 it will see that plan being executed. The New Acquisition

After hunting high and low, going to Mercedes dealerships, on the internet, and even checking out a few junk yards, I realize that the head lights for my Mercedes was a little on the unique side. They are the European style and I can’t seem to find a listing in the U.S. And I’m not too crazy about the American style, (those little round headlights) so I went ahead and got a new truck.

Well, not a “New” truck. It is a 01 Ford F-150 XL. One of the fleet trucks from Georgia Power. A no thrill model. One I won’t be afraid of putting to work. I had planned on fixin’ the 82 F-150 up, but sense my credit rating needed a little work I thought that getting this 01 model would be a big help.

Oh, don’t worry; I am still keeping the Mercedes. Still the best driving car I ever had. I’ll probably find a front with head light that I like and just go ahead and replace the whole front. While I am at it too, that wiring harness is getting replaced. That old wire is driving me up the wall.

But the 82 F-150 is now up for sale, and I have an 87 Lincoln Towncar that needs a good owner too.

The City of Moreland had made good its promise and cleaned up the trees. They piled all the limbs into a big pile and even move a couple of my other piles to the big pile. I told them I’ll be responsible for burning it. So, now I’m having a big marshmallow and weenie roast at my place. Bring your own hot-dogs and marshmallows, skewers, drinks, chairs, ECT. I’ll provide the bon-fire. (chuckle)

Pictures should be forth-coming soon.
