Today is the last day of Advent, a time when we prepare ourselves for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Tomorrow is Christmas day, a celebration of the coming of our Savor and the start of the Christmas liturgical season; the twelve days of Christmas which use to run from the 25th to Jan 5th with the Epiphany on the 6th. This year it will run from the 25th until the 7th.
During this Christmas season I always try and visit old friends and catch-up with what is going on. I believe that friendship is one of the greatest gifts one can give to another. That is what God gave us, when he became Man, His eternal Friendship.
This Friendship is not the friendly warm-fuzzy feeling type of friendship. This Friendship is the type that will see you through the long haul, through thick or thin, sickness or health, richer or poorer. This sounds like wedding vowels and yet in true Friendship this is what it is, silently voweling to each other. That is why Friendship with God is so important. You may mess up. But like a True Friend, Our Lord will welcome you back when you realize the errors of your ways and wish to make amends.
So During this Christmas season, try and make those amends. Be the first to come forward and start the healing process. This is what Our Lord did when He became Man.
On another note: I should start posting pictures by next Tuesday. I don’t have a digital camera yet. I haven’t seen anything I really like, (i.e.: Good and cheep). I find the good ones that ain’t cheep and I find the cheep ones that ain’t good. So until someone out there meets my strict requirements, I’ll be having to take my film in and having them developed then transferred to a disk to upload.
